I took three minutes to scroll through the songs on my iTunes that are just miserable. They include:
"Total Eclipse of the Heart" - Bonnie Tyler
"Relax" - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
"Power of Love" - Huey Lewis (I remember searching and being unable to find the studio version)
"Falls Apart" - Sugar Ray
Anyone else care to mention songs that make a normal person cringe, but are personal favorites?

Don't you dare erase Bonnie! Wow - that's the first rock song (well, that's using the term "rock" loosely) I remember listening to back in '82.
Now, if it was "Heartache" by Bonnie, I say ditch that mother.
I think any normal person would say that my entire music collection fits your description - it makes other people cringe. Annie Lennox, Linda Ronstadt, Jamiroqui, ...
Eric, you forgot Rod Stewart, Wallflowers, and Rock Jock Jams of 89.
I didn't say I was going to erase, if anything, they are entrenched.
I hate to admit, but I think I was born 10 years too late.
